In 1492 Columbus Sailed The Ocean Blue

To celebrate Columbus day, and the fact that Jacob had the day off of work, we headed into D.C. to go to the American Indian Museum. I hadn't heard the best reviews of this newer Smithsonian, but I thought that we better see it for ourselves. I thought that it was pretty interesting and well done, true it could have been better layed out to get a real since of all the tribes, but our guide gave us a good understanding of some of the issues Native Americans were faced with and some of their beliefs. The most fascinating exhibit (I thought) was labeled "1491" (before Columbus came). If you're ever in the area (or want to visit...we know a great little place out in the country you could stay), the American Indian Museum is a place to put on your list for a quick museum tour.
