Hallstatt + Mondsee

Day two of our Austria trip, we drove through the windy mountain roads to a little town on the edge of a lake called Hallstatt.  The town in the lake district is squished between the shore and the steep mountain side and is so picturesque!

When we got to the town we found a little place to rent a little 2-speed boat and put around the lake for an hour.  It was the perfect Sunday activity with amazing views.  Both of the kids were able to drive the boat.

{Mr. Gray loved it until he decided he wanted to go swimming and realized we wouldn't let him}

 {Avery was so excited to sit in the back of the boat}

After spending a few hours in Hallstatt and a delicious meal on the water, we drove to the town of Mondsee.  It is the site of the church that was used for the wedding in "The Sound of Music" movie (not where they were actually married).

{mass had just gotten out, so we had the whole church to ourselves}

{my beautiful girl!}

{the only way to get Gray to lose the binki was to replace it with a pretzel}

{The kids love playing in this fountain, but it's also where Avery's shoes became soaking wet, which resulted in cold toes during our ice cave hike the next day}

wow these pictures are amazing... the Church from the movie always seemed so dark I had no clue it was so light and pink, still very beautiful. Avery's hair is so long it's only been a couple of months but man your kids seem like they have grown.
