Avery's 3rd Birthday Party

Avery started talking about her 3rd birthday party probably 6 months ago, and for the last month or two she has been telling people that she was already 3.  At night (as a bedtime delay tactic) she would tell me all about  what she wanted at her party.  Her self-chosen theme:PINK.

It was so much fun to go with her ideas and run with it, especially since this is the first year that we've had a "friend party" and we could do all activities based around 3 year old little girls.

The Decorations:

The Food:
 {pb+j sandwiches, animal crackers, raspberry pretzels, pink popcorn, strawberries + raspberries with pink dip, strawberry cake/cupcakes and pink lemonade}

 Party Favors:
 {these little bags with homemade button candy (the kind on paper from when we were kids) and pink kool-aid lipgloss.  They also got to take home their ribbon wand and jewlery box and necklace}

 {This is the birthday crown I started for Avery's birthday last year and finished this year}

Activities:
The girls (and 1 boy) started off by decorating their heart jewelry boxes and making bead necklaces.  Then we played some games: "ring around the rosies", "London bridge" and pass the prize ball to music.  The kids danced to music with their ribbon wands and after birthday cake and presents, they just played until it was time to leave.  It was so simple and relaxed that I was able to really enjoy the party and didn't feel much pressure for things to go a certain way.

Happy Birthday my 3 year old!
