From the moment Avery realized there was a baby in my belly, I knew she would be an amazing big sister! It is such a fun relationship to see unfold. I remember the night when she first felt Grayson kicking in my belly. She would giggle every time he would kick and it made me emotional thinking of the bond these two would share.
For a couple weeks before Grayson was born, we really struggled to decide what we wanted to name him, and so it became a constant topic of conversation. Of course Avery got into these discussions also. So when she came to the hospital to meet her brother for the first time and Jacob said, "this is your baby brother, Grayson" she replied, "please don't call him that". She obviously was rooting for another name. It took about a week before she started calling him by the right name.

Avery and Grayson's relationship has blossomed even more over the past 8 weeks. She loves to hold her baby and sings him songs when he's crying. If we're reading stories together, she is either holding his hand or has her hand on his head. Likewise, he loves watching his big sister. If he catches her gaze, he just beams and smiles and laughs at her antics.

They are so cute together! Having a girl first is a lot of help! She'll turn into his little "mommy" for sure!
that is hilarious that she didn't like his name at first! these pictures are very sweet.
