Pretty much from day 1 Avery has been very attached to her binki. We had made the goal of getting rid of it around 18 months since I had heard that children get much more attached around that time, but obviously we didn't hit that mark. And although she only had her binki for naps and bedtime, I was very worried about how attached she was to it.
With that being said, I have been so pleasantly surprised with how well it's gone the past week and a half. The first night we explained it very well to her what was going to happen, and she's only casually asked about it since. The best benefit is that she is finally sleeping through the night. The first couple days/nights she was waking up quite a bit, but for the past week she hasn't woken up at all (which for me is a miracle since we've been going on at least 2 or 3 wake ups for the past 2 years).
So this is my reminder when my next child has to go through this stage...it can be okay!
