I've had a list for a while now of things that I wanted to try to sew to maybe add to Fig Basics, and since I've started sewing again, I decided to start down that list, and ended up with these cute cloth blocks. The fabrics are mostly Amy Butler, with one side being striped chenille. I was so excited when I completed them, I decided to make a bag for them to go in...

...So is my first drawstring bag. It's made of pink flannel. The fun is in the details. I did my first applique, which turned out better than I thought, I machine sewed my first button hole, which was very easy, and sewed a little scalloped edge around the top. I thought the bag was perfect to put the blocks in, but a little big for my set of 3 so I'll have to find another use for it.
I was thinking of selling the blocks as a set on my etsy shop, but wanted to get your opinions...

The blocks are adorable. I would definitely put them up on Etsy. I tried making blocks one time. They didn't come out as great. I'm awful though, if things don't come out good, the first time around, I usually give up and move on to something else.
Yes, for sure! They are adorable!
Ashley,
Do you remember when you were a little girl we had cloth blocks like this. They weren't nearly as beautiful as yours but you loved them. Definately put them on itsy.
Love you! Mom
ok first can i just say i love your mom :) but i do also love the blocks! have you decided a price for them? i bet they are pretty time consuming...but they are great and you should atleast give them a try bec they are beautiful. Caleb has a cute set that have a rattle inside. you could maybe put a bell in them, just an idea :)
those are totally cute! we need to get together and sew together.
You should put them on your site!! They are beautiful.

Ash,
How much did you sell them for on your etsy site?
I sold them for $18, but I had to ship them to Australia, which killed me. I def. need to up my international shipping cost!
