I guess that really describes most days here in Hawaii, but on Friday Allie and I hitched a ride with Mayka to Kailua for a day at the beach. We wandered around the town for a while, stopping at Lanikai Juice (which I guess was once on Oprah's favorite things) for a refreshing, exotic smoothie. We also stopped at a local market to buy a case of our new favorite pineapple soda and later headed to a bakery for lunch and a few goodies for the road (I have a weakness for bakeries).
The beach was absolutely gorgeous with crystal blue water and sand that was so fine it was like walking on powdered sugar. The waves were perfect for Mayka's boys to play in (and we enjoyed them too). There were a lot of windsurfers and "kite" surfers (?) there, which was neat to watch. It was definitely one of those places we'll have to go back to.
